Eighteen quality television series is a lot of programming to consume and consider — and to brand under one studio’s “For Your Consideration” (FYC) umbrella. We were challenged with designing a campaign that featured each individual series, its talent and creators while keeping a major broadcast network’s brand front-facing.
While episodes are available to voters for viewing on a private website, packaging “FYC” DVDs remains an important opportunity for studios to stand out from the crowd and as a quality differentiator to compel viewing — and inspire votes.
Working with the network’s awards team, we focused primarily on episodic art to establish a more intimate, behind the scenes sensibility. Using black chipboard, we created a self-closing booklet with a deconstructed look and feel, setting it apart from typical lay-flat mailers. The Studio logo was treated with a gloss UV finish to create contrast. The combination of high/low finishes carried through to the lush interior magazine-style booklet where gloss UV treatments highlighted the cast imagery, allowing each spread to stand out and shine. Additional campaign elements included trade ads, OOH and digital takeovers placed within a targeted and strategic media buy.
